Washington, D.C. 20052A quiet oasis nestled in the heart of an urban campus, University Yard is a favorite outdoor spot for students to study, relax and meet up with friends. It is also the site of major university events throughout the year, such as the annual Fall Fest concert and other performances. University Yard’s green space is studded with benches and trees. In addition, the center of University Yard is where the brick walkways of GW Law School and other academic buildings converge, making this a convenient place to spend time between classes.

- Academic Spaces
GW's academic spaces are primarily reserved for academic purposes, but outside of instruction these spaces can be used for meetings, lectures and special events. Visit the Academic Scheduling website to view their reservation and rental procedures.
Academic space may be requested for use by faculty/staff and schedulers for student organizations via EMS. Outside groups must have a GW sponsor in order to rent space and must be either a non-profit or government organization. Outside groups may only rent space in the Summer semester.
